HISTORY
Founded in 1952, Serra initially specialized in engineering and manufacturing equipment for the food, beverage, and chemical industries, later developing deep expertise in salt processing. Over the years, Serra has become a trusted partner for major local salt producers, offering comprehensive solutions for the entire salt production process.
From its early days in the 1970s, Serra provided crushing and drying processes to Spain’s top salt producers. Over time, the company expanded its services, delivering salt works design, equipment engineering, manufacturing, and commissioning to the majority of salt producers in Spain.
In 1991, Serra began its international expansion, driven by a highly experienced and multidisciplinary team. Today, Serra provides innovative salt processing plants, equipment, and solutions to over 80 countries, becoming the partner of choice for salt producers globally.
Serra’s expert team has developed extensive knowledge of the entire salt production process, from saltworks design to harvesting, washing, refining, and packaging.
